Last Tuesday evening, June 13, Holladay resident Robert Paschal Fletcher, 40, was apprehended in Nashville after being placed on TBI’s Most Wanted List earlier that day. Fletcher was wanted in connection with the death of Shelly J. Hawks, 55, who was found dead inside her Holladay home on Friday, June 9.

TBI special agents joined the Benton County Sheriff’s Office (BCSO) in investigating Hawks’ death. During the investigation, Fletcher emerged as the primary suspect. On June 13, TBI agents secured a warrant charging Fletcher with criminal homicide, and subsequently, he was placed on TBI’s Most Wanted List.

Tuesday evening, following a tip from a citizen in Nashville, TBI agents, members of the U.S. Marshals from the Two Rivers Violent Fugitive Task Force in West Tennessee, U.S. Marshals from the Middle District of Tennessee, and the Nashville Metropolitan Police Department located Fletcher and took him into custody.

Following his arrest, Fletcher was transported to Benton County and booked into the Benton County Jail, charged on one count of criminal homicide. His bond was set at $500,000. It was reported that during questioning, Fletcher acknowledged that he had been staying with Hawks at her home when they got into an altercation that resulted in her death.

After the altercation, Fletcher stole Hawks’ 1999 red Ford 150 extended cab pickup with a handicapped license plate, fleeing Holladay and Benton County. Fletcher later abandoned the truck at a homeless camp in Nashville.
