BCSO provides firewood for those in need

Posted

Sheriff Kenny Christopher has announced that the Benton County Sheriff’s Office has firewood available for those in need during these frigid temperatures. He indicates this new program is to supply firewood blocks donated by various businesses, delivered by trustees under the supervision of jail staff.

“I know that a number of families in our area still use wood-burning fireplaces or even stoves to heat their homes during the winter months,” Christopher said. “BCSO wants to make sure that anyone who needs wood to keep warm, but can’t afford it, will have a way to get the firewood they need this winter.”

This is a program for those families that heat with wood and can’t afford wood at this time, like the elderly, families with children, and the disabled. To apply for this service, call the sheriff’s office at 731-584-4632 Monday-Friday between the hours of 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. and ask for Allison Lambright.
