Benton County’s unemployment rate experienced a slight uptick in September, rising from 4.0% to 4.2%, according to recent data from the Tennessee Department of Labor and Workforce Development. Out of the county’s total workforce of 6,923 individuals, 290 were reported as unemployed.

This increase aligns with a broader trend seen across the state, as many Tennessee counties experienced minor changes in their unemployment rates. Despite the slight rise, Benton County’s unemployment rate remains within the moderate range and is comparable to statewide figures.
