Benton County voters were eager to vote early this year with near-record high early voting.

As of Nov. 1, Benton County Administrator of Elections reported that 5,193 votes had been cast, including early and absentee voting.  There are 35 absentee ballots outstanding that may come in before Election Day, which is Tuesday, Nov. 5.

With high voter turnout expected, Benton County will join communities across the state and country in heading to the polls on Tuesday, Nov. 5, for the 2024 General Election. Key races on the ballot include federal, state, and local positions, with seats in Congress, the Tennessee State Legislature, and various county and municipal offices up for election.

Election officials are preparing for a busy day at the polls, where voters can weigh in on critical issues, including potential referendums and local measures. Polls will open early, at 7 a.m., and close at 7 p.m. on Election Day. Voters are reminded to bring a valid ID to the polls and to double-check their designated polling location before heading out.

In addition to local races, Benton County voters will have a chance to influence the outcome of statewide contests. Results from Benton County will contribute to Tennessee's overall voting data, which can impact decisions at both the state and federal levels.
